At an age when most young women have just escaped college or their high school days, many young ladies with no party planning experience are planning the most important day of their lives – their weddings. Not only are these young brides planning the most important day of their lives with little to no party planning experience, but they are also doing it with huge sums of money or debt. If you are facing the issues of how to plan a wedding and aren’t quite sure even where to start, you are not alone. Most brides are lost when they start looking into everything that goes into planning a wedding. When I was planning my own wedding, I was astounded about how much work there was to do, and how many vendors that I needed to work with to pull the whole thing off. So when I was considering how to plan wedding, I started in the wrong place. Here are a few of the choices I wish I could do over again the right way.
Make a Plan – How to Plan a Wedding
When I first started my own wedding planning, the first thing I did was to start booking locations for our wedding and reception. Turns out, I made a common mistake among new brides when they start planning their wedding. So instead of doing what most new brides do, come up with your game plan of a wedding budget and rough guest list. Coming up with a budget and guest list may be tedious, but it’s also so important. Find out who is planning to contribute what towards your wedding, and then allot for the different things you want in your wedding. Coming up with a rough guest list is so that you can understand just how many people could be showing up for your wedding. So, it’s pointless and a waste of money if you put a deposit on a reception and ceremony venues that hold 500 if you only have 150 on the guest list. It only makes sense for you to settle down and create a game plan for your wedding planning before spending anything.
Planning Your Wedding – Without Being Scammed
Another thing that brides need to worry about is dealing with the right kinds of wedding vendors. There are somewedding vendors out there who assume that they can overcharge for their services simply because they’re working for a wedding. The fact is, many wedding vendors know that most brides don’t know what they’re doing when it comes to planning a wedding and don’t know how much their services should cost. So do your research.
Whatever you do, don’t get discouraged. Learn to negotiate for the best prices, and where to go to find better prices even if the wedding vendors in your town just won’t budge off of their prices. It’s not impossible to have your dream wedding on a small budget if you know where to look.
